Celestial Object

Afloat on cosmic rays with meteors and shooting stars for company
Impossible darkness stretching out lightyears in every direction
Time, immaterial
Space – an endless exploration of patience
Solitude interrupted by solar flares so loud they drown out the disquiet of unknowing advance in frictionless void
Time – that bifurcated side-piece of the fourth dimension, irrelevant
Unknown eons pass with aimless direction
Seeking meaning in passing starlight
Planets and nebulae appear both impossibly massive and insignificantly small
Distance a concept long since abandoned
Here in the fast and free frozen frontier of space exploration, the surety of isolation becomes a comfort after untold millennia
A general sense of unease permeates however
The horizon speckled with pinpricks of light
Illuminating and highlighting the expanse of pitch-black
Yet a star burns brighter
If it is even a star
Grows rapidly by the tracking of nanoseconds in the vacuum
Something different
Something unseen for lifetimes
An unfashionable, indescribable celestial object approaches
Gleaming impossibly bright in darkened light that shines from nowhere
Noise booms from this celestial interloper, somehow transmitting sound waves through a place with no atmosphere
Forgotten languages blare from somewhere in the gaping maw of unholy light
Seemingly repeating itself on a cycle, I ponder the meaning
I have seen many strange things throughout my universal traverse
An object my mind struggles to comprehend the exact shape of yelling “I’ve been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty” perhaps the strangest
